London Olympics 2012 - Venues & Locations
We have a luxury range of Motorhomes and campervan hire all available for the Olympics 2012.
The 2012 Olympics and Paralympics will be the biggest sporting event the UK has ever hosted and is eagerly awaited by the participating sports people, UK residents and visitors alike. Most of the venues for the London 2012 Games are within London, but others are located the length of the country, from Glasgow in Scotland to Weymouth and Portland on the south coast of England. Motorhome hire offers a good option for those wanting to visit multi sites throughout the duration of the games, or for those who want more of a home from home accommodation option.
The venues across the country to visit in your motorhome rental reaching from one end of the country to the other include:
- Brands Hatch in Kent for Paralympic cycling
- City of Coventry stadium for football
- Hadleigh Farm in Essex for mountain biking
- Hampden Park, Glasgow for football
- The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff for football
- Weymouth and Portland in Dorset for sailing and Paralympic sailing
There are over 100,000 hotel rooms in London and excellent quality accommodation to serve other venues and locations too. However, with a campervan hire you have the flexibility to move from venue to venue and take in the other sights the country has to offer in between, moving from campsite to campsite. Choose a motorhome hire from your home location or arrival airport, close to an Olympic venue or from a UK tourist destination. You will have a variety of vehicle sizes and layouts to choose from to suit your needs and your party size and composition.
It is recommended that campsites are booked in advance as demand is likely to be heavy.
Near to London the Camping and Caravanning Club is opening two special Olympics campsites with about 250 pitches each for tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. The Elms Caravan Park is only 18 minutes by Tube to the Olympic Park and main stadium. Alternatively there is the Caravan Club Crystal Palace site or the Lee Valley site, location of the white water course.
Further afield you will find campsites serving each of the venue locations – we Brits love camping and there are plenty of sites to serve that need.
