Terms & Conditions

1. Hire rates quoted include:
•  VAT (17.5%)
•  Unlimited UK miles
•  UK standard vehicle insurance

Insurance loading. In some cases, Freedhome motorhome hire will incur additional charges if the driver to be insured has a traffic conviction, is using a non-UK driving licence or is in an occupation which is deemed high risk. These charges will be passed onto the customers.

•  UK Standard equipment & breakdown cover

Freedhome motorhome hire will supply full breakdown cover to cover any mechanical faults to the base chassis of the motorhome. Any call out charges incurred by the client through operator error, e.g. a flat vehicle battery will be the responsibility of the client.

2. Drivers
Drivers must be between 30 and 75 years of age, and have held a full driving licence valid for the relevant vehicle for at least two years prior to the commencement of hire. Drivers' licences must be free of endorsements except for minor speeding or parking offences (more than 3 points may be subject to an insurance surcharge.) Drivers who passed their test after 1996 may be restricted on the weight of motorhome they are permitted to drive; please telephone to check.

Licences must be produced at the time of vehicle collection. In the case of UK photo card licences both the card and the counterpart paper licence must be produced. Visitors from abroad must produce a valid unendorsed domestic driving licence or international driving permit.

The price covers one named driver. Additional drivers may be added at an additional charge of £25 per driver per week (maximum of 2 additional drivers). Drivers are required to submit their personal details on the booking form. The hirer and main driver at the commencement of hire must produce personal identification such as a valid passport and confirmation of address in the form of a recent utility bill or a bank/building society statement.

3. Insurance
Standard excess.

The quoted hire rate includes a standard excess of £750. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for the first £750. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windows or tyre damage.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) CDW at £15.00 per day will reduce the excess for any damage caused in a collision to either the vehicle or third party property to £0.The hirer will however be fully liable for replacement or repair to windows or tyre damage or damage caused due to negligence. Applies in respect of each claim, not Rental. Please note that the CDW Insurance is completely optional and can be decided upon collection of your vehicle.

4. Security Deposit
There is a £750.00 Security Deposit payable by cash or by credit card on collection of the vehicle. A full refund of the deposit will be made on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date and time, in the same condition as it was let out to you, with the toilet empty, the interior clean, including all cooking appliances, and the tank full of fuel. Where damage to the vehicle has been sustained the deposit will be retained until the full cost of the repair has been ascertained. This amount will then be deducted from the deposit and the balance refunded. Freedhome motorhome hire reserves the right to increase the security deposit for specific events e.g. Football World Cup, music festivals etc. to £1000.00. Please note: Where the hirer has opted for the CDW option, no excess will be charged in the event of a collision, but they should be aware that the £750 security deposit will be used to fund any loss or damage whatsoever to equipment, fixtures and fittings, windows, tyres or negligent damage to the vehicle.

5. European Travel
There is an additional charge of £75.00 per week for European travel. This covers European breakdown cover, travel pack (warning triangle etc) and insurance outside of UK.

6. Hire periods
The minimum hire period is three days except in the high season (June, July, August) when it is 7 days.

Weekly vehicle hire in high season is Saturday to Saturday, subject to availability. Vehicles are available for collection between 3.00p.m and 6.00p.m. and returned between 9.00a.m and 11.00a.m., unless otherwise arranged in writing. Out of high season 4 night short breaks are from Monday - collection between 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm and return Friday between 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. 3 night short breaks are from Friday - collection between 3.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. and return Monday between 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. Failure to comply with these times will result in the hirer being surcharged at the rate of £50 per hour or part thereof (first 3 hours) and balance of deposit thereafter together with any additional costs incurred by the Company. No refunds will be given for an early return of the vehicle.

7. Liabilities
We accept no liability for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other consequential loss claims arising from motorhome breakdown, fair wear and tear excepted, accident or any other such related causes. All accidents must be reported immediately by telephone to 0845 6434 946. An accident report form must be completed at the termination of hire.
The hirer shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred for speeding, parking fines, congestion charges and for any other offences committed against the Road Traffic Act or traffic regulations.
The hirer shall be responsible for all overhead damage resulting from any incident, overhead damage is defined from ground to in excess of 6 feet from the ground.
You are required to check tyre pressures and engine fluid levels as specified in the driver's manual.
Tyre damage & puncture repairs are the responsibility of the hirer.
Upon return the Company's representative will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, etc., including the condition of the tyres and windscreen which are not included in the Company's insurance cover, any such damage is the hirer's responsibility.
The hirer is required to keep the motorhome under their control throughout the hire period. It must be locked at all times when unattended.

9. Collection & Return
Collection: Please allow 1 hour for the hand-over at the depot - to complete the documentation and demonstrate your vehicle to you. Please allow the same on your return.

Return: The vehicle must be returned on the date, and before the time stated, on the rental agreement. Vehicles must be returned clean and in the same condition as they leave the depot, otherwise a charge will be made. In addition a separate toilet cleaning fee will apply if the toilet waste tank is not empty on return, £50.

A full tank of diesel is supplied with the vehicle at the commencement of hire and the hirer is expected to return the vehicle with a full tank of diesel. Any shortage will be charged to the hirer.

Two gas cylinders are supplied, with at least one full. Subsequent refills are the responsibility of the hirer who should ensure that refilled bottles are the same size and fitting and returned with the vehicle.

Late return: If you will be late returning, the rental company must be advised immediately. Failure to advise may result in prosecution for driving whilst uninsured. An additional charge of £50 per hour will be payable for all late returns.

10. Animals
No animals, other than guide dogs, are allowed in the vehicle. Any damage incurred will be charged to the hirer in full.

11. Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in our motorhomes. This is out of consideration to subsequent hirers who may be non-smokers. Any infringement of this condition will incur an extra cleaning charge of £50. For the benefit of other hirers your co-operation would be appreciated.
